New Sensory Room
Launch the media gallery 1 playerDexter Elementary would like to introduce its newest addition: a sensory room for all students. This room includes a climbing wall, a balance beam, sensory floor tiles, steppingstones, and a swing. These activities assist our students with much needed brain breaks all while providing a calming atmosphere when the regular classroom becomes to overwhelming. It also supplies our teachers and staff the opportunity to explore nontraditional methods of instruction. Sensory rooms have proven to provide significant advancements in behavior and academic success. None of this would be possible without the support of the Dallas County Foundation’s grant and from funds provided by private donors. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have supported the needs of our Dexter Elementary Students.
